InboundWriter’s New User Interface: A Helpful Guide

Today we’re beginning a gradual roll-out of our latest InboundWriter release to all beta users. This release includes some notable changes to the user interface, many of which are improvements that our users have been requesting throughout the past few months. Below are some screenshots of the new UI to help you get familiar with the new surroundings…

Let’s start with the new welcome and document screen:

Watch for the latest news from InboundWriter each time you log in. We’ve also introduced some new features to the document list including a quick optimization summary and document preview when you click on any of your existing documents.

When you see a pepper on the list that tells you that we’ve found some related Twitter sharing activity (Topic Buzz feature). By clicking on the Topic Buzz tab or on the pepper itself you can look at the social activity related to the topic of that document.

In addition to the changes we’ve made to the documents tab, we’ve also streamlined the user interface in the Content Lab. Starting a new document will bring you directly to the strategy and topic research options.

We’ve put all the strategy and research functionality under tabs which will be changed after Topic Research is complete.

Everything is now in two columns instead of three giving you more room for the relevant terms.

We’ve also implemented a way to minimize all distractions while you write. If you want to turn off the scoring while you compose your content just collapse the left hand column and open it again when you’re ready to look at your score again.

Lastly, the editor is much improved. When cutting and pasting from other applications the preservation of the formatting information is much improved as well.

This redesigned interface will start to hit your screens between now and the end of June. We hope you will enjoy the new user experience!
