InboundWriter Now Available on iPad and Other Tablets (Thanks to HTML5 Rewrite!)
It’s official! Today we announced that by popular demand, the InboundWriter web application is now available on iPad and other tablets.
In order to support these new form factors, the InboundWriter web application has been entirely rewritten in the HTML5 standard, leaving behind its original implementation of Adobe Flash. This modern platform sets in place an architecture that will support rapid release of new functionality, strengthening current offerings, and also allow for a deeper expansion into integrating both search and social intelligence into the writing process.
Here’s what Jay McCarthy, our VP of Marketing, had to say about this exciting milestone:
“iPad support was very highly requested by our users since we debuted InboundWriter last year. We’ve observed a trend where writers and marketers are starting to replace laptops with a combination of tablets and wireless keyboards; hence, we invested in an HTML5 overhaul early on because this is where we see interactive Internet-based applications like ours headed.”
Have you used the iPad and wireless keyboard combo to create content? Let us know how you like it — and tell us what you think about InboundWriter on the iPad! Comment below or find us on Twitter and Facebook.

Does “other tablets” mean Android tablets? I have an Asus Transformer Prime Android ICS tablet and would LOVE to use it to write my articles with Inbound Writer!
Thanks,
Sylvia
Hi Sylvia – yes, the InboundWriter web application should work on Android tablets as well. Give it a try and let us know if you experience any issues. Thanks!
Does the WordPress plugin still require Flash? Do you have plans for updating it?
Sorry about the Delay, Daniel. Yes we anticipate an HTML5 based plug in in the next few weeks. Bye Bye Flash ….
